--> There is no easy way to suppress section labeling just inside a preface. OTOH, it is quite easy to suppress section labeling everywhere, but of course, keep part, chapter, appendix labeled. This is done by setting the "section.autolabel" XSLT stylesheet parameter to "0". Procedure: [1] Open your document. [2] Select "Options|Customize Configuration|Change Document Conversion Parameters". [3] Select a group of parameter using the combobox. For Example: "Converter to PDF, PostScript" [4] Click Add. [5] Type: --- section.autolabel --- then: --- 0 --- as shown in the attached screenshot. [6] Click OK twice. Then repeat [3] to [6] for all the formats you'll target in our deliverables. --> Suppressing section labeling just inside a preface is possible, but requires creating a customization of the stock DocBook configuration.
