Dear M. Shafie,

This is a concern we have about fonts with FOP (we mentioned this a
couple of months ago, but it seems that it will become soon a serious
issue for us).

We have special characters in our documentation kit that are not
rendered by the default fonts, especially Greek and Cyrillic ones. To
have these rendered correctly, we have to customize the FOP addon with
the correct fonts (we use DejaVu-LGC fonts). This works fine for a
couple of users, but it does not scale very well, especially when the
DocBook to PDF transformation is performed by batch programs; having
DejaVu-LGC used by all users would mean individually launching XMLMind,
configuring FOP addon, etc etc. This is not practical in our case.

So our question is the following: could it be possible to configure the
font being used by FOP directly from within XMLMind fop-addon
distribution, as it is done for instance for MathML (which also uses
DejaVu fonts I believe ?).

Any other way to specify a path for FOP fonts during XMLMind
customization (we customize XMLMind before we make it available to our
users, so they do not have to bother about which addons to download etc
etc), would also be perfectly fine.

Many thanks for your help and suggestions,
Best regards.
