Perhaps this is technically impractical, but it would be nice to have a
CSS pseudo-class that detects if the selector element is currently
selected. (Something similar to the ":active" pseudo-class for HTML
links.) For example: "image:selected {border: 3px solid blue;}" This
would be helpful in calling attention to an element that has been
selected programmatically, especially for things like images where the
red border doesn't stand out very well. It would also allow for
generated content to display something different when selected.
