You are right. Workaround #2 cannot work because, as documented here,
http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/changes.html#v4.7.0 :

``The com.xmlmind.foprocessor.FOProcessor interface has slightly changed.''

I don't think you can just replace the FOP jars by the 0.95 ones.
Therefore I'm afraid you'll have to wait for next release.
