Disclaimer: XMLmind is a small company and unfortunately we cannot afford spending much time explaining how it works and how to do such and such thing to prospective customers.
If you have no experience with Java applets and/or with advanced, WYSIWYG, XML editors (i.e. XMLmind, XMetal, Abortext), we are afraid that you'll loose your time with our applet. FYI, for now, all the customers of our applet are experienced users of the desktop application which need to very easily deploy XMLmind XML Editor to a large number of *technical* *writers* in a strictly controlled working environment (that is, not to the general public). See http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/download.shtml [2] Please get and install an evaluation key in your running XMLmind XML Editor Personal Edition. See http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/download.shtml [3] Please deploy XMLmind XML Editor as an applet using the deploywebstart command-line tool. This command basically creates (a sample .html file, a .jnlp file, signed .jar files, etc) a bunch of files in a destination directory. See "XMLmind XML Editor - Configuration and Deployment, Deploying XXE as an applet" -- http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/doc/configure/testing_the_applet.html > In SmartGWT ( Google WebToolKit) there are options for embedding applets so > they can be accessed over the web. OK. However this is almost certainly a very thin layer (allowing to generate and script <object> or <applet>) which, in practice, will not help you much. > Please let me know what browsers are best suited for it. Everything is explained in in this page: http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/xxe_applet.html Please make sure to carefully read the admonition titled "Important disclaimer". -- XMLmind XML Editor Support List [email protected] http://www.xmlmind.com/mailman/listinfo/xmleditor-support
