Sorry but I don't understand your questions. The Compare Tool allows to compare two documents opened in XXE, no matter where these documents are stored. However in order to do this, all the elements of the documents being compared must have ``serial numbers''. These serial numbers are stored in a single <?xxe-serial-numbers?> added by XXE at file save time, at the very end of the XML file. A technical description of what we did is found here: Appendix B.
