So the "rules" used to determine which
elements can be inserted at a specific place are taken from the RNG
schema.
Thanks for that info.

Using XXE 5.1.0, editing a DocBook5 document, I can insert a
"note"
element inside a "figure" element. This produces a non valid
DocBook5
document. Is this a bug?
No, merely a minor limitation (that we do not plan to remove):
* The RELAX NG schema of DocBook 5 allows a figure to contain an
admonition. See http://www.docbook.org/tdg5/en/html/figure.html
* The Schematron of DocBook 5 specifies that having an admonition
inside a figure is incorrect.
XXE is schema-directed, not schematron-directed. It checks the
``validity''of the document against the Schematron only at
document load time, at document save time and when "Tools|Check
Validity" is explicitly used.
