--> Basically, there is no way to directly create an xi:include element (this is not allowed by the DocBook schema). Instead, you must: [1] Give an ID to your chapter element. [2] Select the chapter element then press Ctrl+Shift-C (Edit|Reference|Copy as Reference) to copy its reference. [3] Switch to the document containing the book. [4] Inside the book, select an empty chapter and then press Ctrl-V (Edit|Paste) to replace the selection by the copied reference OR Select a chapter and press Ctrl-W (Edit|Paste After) to paste the copied reference after the selection. --> I thought this was correctly explained in this lesson of the tutorial: "Creating a modular document" Text: http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_tutorial/modular_doc/index.html Screencast: http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_tutorial/modular_doc/video/modular_doc.html > > Many thanks in advance !
