At the source code level, Android Java is not special at all. The language is exactly the same (i.e. it's not a dialect) and the Android runtime includes a large subset of the Java 1.5 packages. However, the UI of an application is implemented using class libraries which bear no resemblance whatsoever to their desktop equivalents. Therefore, it seems very difficult to port XXE to Android.
