They work fine with other browsers, so the problem seems to be an
incompatibility with JavaFX WebKit.

all, the compiler now generates <meta charset="UTF-8"/> rather than
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"/>.
This allows to better support Web Help containing XHTML5 pages.
* A MathML or SVG element embedded in an input XHTML page is now
serialized in a way which is compatible with HTML parsers (the svg and
math root elements now use a default namespace).
* Upgraded jQuery to v1.9.1, jQuery UI to v1.10.0, the jquery.cookie
plug-in to v1.3.1.

Next release of XXE will also allow to generate Web Help containing
*HTML5* pages out of a DITA document.
Hopefully these enhancements will fix the problems with JavaFX's WebKit.
If this is not the case, then I'm afraid there is nothing we can do. I
am sorry but we cannot afford to spend some time writing workarounds for
what seems to be JavaFX's WebKit flaws.
