there should be a property set on the applet jar manifest to avoid the
rather annoying (popping up every time we close the applet here) 'mixed
code' security popup.
Do you plan to add this to future versions of the applet jar? can we set
this on our current xxe deployed jars somehow, or rebuild them somehow,
to include this property set to see if we can get rid of this dialog
from the JRE?
XXE is tested against the latest JRE. At the time XXE v5.6, the latest
JRE was 1.7.0_17. There was no such problem at that time.
Please understand that we cannot cope with Oracle's frenetic pace of
Java releases.
We'll of course try to modify our code and/or our deployment tools for
the next release (not before 2~3 months) in order to remove these
annoying security popups.
Meanwhile, I'm sorry to say that for now, we have no idea of what you
can do on your side to remove these annoying security popups.

This also implies that, for now, XXE cannot be deployed as an applet in
working environments where the Web browser/Java runtime combination is
not strictly controlled. (This limitation applies only to the applet,
not to XXE running as a desktop application or deployed using Java Web
Start.)
