By default, a .html file is opened using the ``default viewer'' helper
application.
On Windows, the ``default viewer'' helper application is command "start"
(which leverages the file associations of Windows).
Please double-check this with the file associations of Windows. Also
check that there is no .html file association with your XML text editor
(in addition to the one for Internet Explorer).
I have deleted my XML text editor from XXE list of helper applications.
Please check that your XML text editor is not the XXE helper application
used to open *.html* files.
Please use "Options|Preferences", "Tools|Helper applications" section to
do that:

--> If everything fails, you can always delete (or better, move to a
temporary folder) the "preferences.properties" file in order to restore
