How can I change/increase the size of the GUI font (family/size)?
Currently its very tiny.

It's because you have a very high resolution screen.

Please use menu item "Options|Preferences", "General "section, then:
1) select "Use custom settings";
2) use the "Display scaling" slider to specify a zoom factor.

See attached screenshot: I had to set the display slider to "175%" because I have a 4K screen on my Linux box.

More information in: http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/doc/help/generalOptions.html

Please note that, in principle, this setting is only needed on Linux (NOT on the Mac or Windows). XMLmind XML Editor should have automatically picked the scale factor of your Windows desktop (e.g. 120% or 150%).

How can I put the toolbar icons int one line?
Currently its spread over two lines.

Sorry but there is no simple way to do this.

When you'll open a document (e.g. a DocBook, DITA, etc, document), many more icons will be added to the toolbar. When this will be case (and also, when you'll have fixed your tiny font problem), you'll see by yourself that two lines are just fine.

Anyway, the UI of XMLmind XML Editor is fully specified using a set of ".xxe_gui" XML files. See:

XMLmind XML Editor - Customizing the User Interface,

Take a look at this doc if you are curious.
