Hi, I have discussed this issue on xmlrpc-user. My opinion is, that I don't like it, for the following reasons:
- It uses a deprecated method (which deserves deprecation very well, not only, because it ignores the transports, but also because it ignores the encoding being used when creating the base64 authorization string). - It duplicates existing clear and documented methods without any reason. If an application programmer wants to support this possibility, he can easily add it for himself. If anyone else wants to pull that patch in, I won't vote against it.
