From the server, the response is correctly sent. It sends a perfectly valid XML. I have tested the same requests with an online PHP based debugger and it receives the same request correctly and displays the resulting XML without any error messages.
File a bug report in Jira and attach the servers response plus the HTTP headers. Use a tool like tcpmon or wireshark, if you have no other possibility to log the response.
