Hi, Perry,

first of all, please be so kind to subscribe to the mailing list.
Otherwise, I have to approve your mail manually and it is quite likely
that I miss doing so within some twenty or so spam mails a day. (Apart
from that, this is the third time today I am writing this, so you'll
save my work. :-)

I haven't used xml-rpc since version 2.01 a couple of years ago. It is not
obvious to me in 3.0 how I can initialize a Handler and guarantee that only one
instance of a Handler is used.

That's the precise scenario, for which the
RequestProcessorFactoryFactory.StatelessProcessorFactoryFactory was
developed. See:

http://ws.apache.org/xmlrpc/apidocs/org/apache/xmlrpc/server/RequestProcessorFactoryFactory.StatelessProcessorFactoryFactory.html

Unfortunately, there is no documentation for it, apart from the
RequestProcessorFactoryFactory javadocs, see

http://ws.apache.org/xmlrpc/apidocs/org/apache/xmlrpc/server/RequestProcessorFactoryFactory.html

My cats know that I am a loser who goes out for hunting every day
without ever returning as much as a single mouse. Fortunately, I've
got a wife who's a real champ: She leaves the house and returns within
half an hour, carrying whole bags full of meal.
