xml-rpc example

Hi I am new bie to xml-rpc in java, I would like to know any tutorial how to create a basic hello world type of example for xml-rpc service. I am going to use tomcat as my servlet container. the example on the apache site does not provide much info, I have been trying for 3 days to understand it, please help
