The problem is occurring because the "Authorization" header isn't being parsed and decoded correctly. I posted a comment on the issue that describes how to get basic authorization working. Hope that helps.

Ok, but you might as well use the ServletWebServer, in which case your problem will most probably done. Nevertheless, I suggest that you post a bug in Jira, because the authentication stuff should of course be supported without the servlet stuff.
