of converting the passphrase user types in from the keyboard into the secret key for
RC4, DES3, etc. This conversion is application specific and if you do this in different
way in different places nothing will work (this was the reason for the "how" question).
Please take a look at the openssl.exe sources (apps/*) to find out how the openssl
does this conversion.

I think that you don't understand me. I developed a application to generate keys, certificates... after I use this keys and certificates to sign xml documents using your library. You can generate with openssl private keys protected with password using a asimetric cypher algorithm (as RC4 or 3DES). I try to load the private key with xmlSecSimpleKeysMngrLoadPemKey indicating the pass phrase (password) and load process failed. I hope that this time you can understand me. And how did you create the encrypted PEM key? Aleksey Lidia wrote:Hi, When I generate signature i load private key using: key=xmlSecSimpleKeysMngrLoadPemKey(keysMngr, private_key_file,password,NULL,1) The problem is if the private_key_file is encrypted with password then I can't load the key. If the "private_key_file" hasn't password I have not problems and I can load key. Program doesn't crashing only return key=NULL.
