guess it's a common thing.
None that I know of.
And I don't think there is any reason to rename docs folder. It's just too many problems for practically no gain.
I agree, but I think the configure option should be --htmldir, and it should only install HTML files (exclude .cvsignore, Makefile*, *.sgml, *.sxd, etc.).
