Thank you for your explanation. However, when the test encounters a
missing (rather than an buggy) algorithm -- should not it say something
like "skipped" instead of "failed" or "error"?

I'd like the test-target of the port to fail if it detects a
miscompilation (or mislinkage), but work otherwise.

There ought to be a simple way to automate the detection of such bugs.
