About reported - Idea is based on issue for openssl and native build.
About mingw - after recent changes(fixes) for conversions between locale
code page and utf-8 one I guess that patch for mingw should define xxxW
for functions in def-file. Right now I'm not able to test build , but in
second week of May I will be in position to look into recent changes for
mscrypto module.

Maybe src/mscrypto/Makefile.am is good to be changed in same way.
I'm still thinking that this is libtool issue and I will try to create
simple test case to libtool suitable for report to libtool project.
The patch is in gnome git.
