You can obviously do it with xmlsec. There are examples in xmlsec tutorial at

Dear Mr Sanin,

I have been in contact with you a few times.

I use XMLSEC in an Macintosh Invoicing program, and am very happy with it.
Thanks for writing it.

For the past 8 months I have been developing a XML INVOICE reader called
iDanfe. (the invoices are called DANFEs in Brazil)

I am investing my savings in this program, I have a developer in India who is
writing a MS WIndows version, another in Italy writing the Mac version a
another in Scotland writing the iOs version.

A few times I have asked them for the possibility of making iDanfe capable of
checking the signature within the XML file, and they answer me they don't know
at the moment how to do this... (comparing signature with public key contained
in the file)

I know that XMLSEC could do this, but I am not sure if there is a simpler way
to do it in a multi-platform program.

Please feel encouraged to take interest in my project, or to tip me off on how
this could be done.

I kindly ask for your advice,

Thank you,
