Correction: with the old xmms2 CLI, you need to use addpls indeed.
With nyxmms2, 'add' should work both for music files and playlist
files out of the box using the file extension (.pls or .m3u for
playlists); if the file has another extension, the 'add' command can
be forced to interpret it as a playlist file using the --pls/-P flag
(applies to all file arguments). If this behaviour is not what you
observe, it's a bug and please report it with a full recipe.
