I would like to see 2222 resolved before a release. I recall you asked why the fix in my tree wasn't put in one of the readline callbacks. I would rather have it in matching_browse because the URL is already split away from the rest of the input line. It makes much more sense than processing the whole line of input as passed by readline. Your other question was regarding browsable URLs. Instead of the current check for a `file' scheme I can add some code that checks if it's browsable or not. It depends on the user and his streams of course, but I think this is a blocking bug since it essentially breaks adding valid HTTP URLs. -- Please don't send me Word, Access, PowerPoint, or Excel attachments.
