Hello I tried to write a script which displays the currently playing song some time around DrLecter.
The result was horrendous because stdin/stdout is line buffered and the status command would output the lines separated by CR so they would get passed only occasionally down the pipeline rusulting in missed events, especially stop events which don't generate that much data. Now with DrNo hte script stopped working but to my surprise it was for the better. Now status stops after printing on line (albeit without a newline) so it's easy to capture and display the output. Attaching the script so that other people can have their currently playing song displayed with xosd. The script has actually three parts. At some point I gave up and wrote some of it in Ruby because shell is really bad at slicing strings at anything but newlines. Thanks Michal
