1.6.4 would crash with any driver attempting to initialize DGA (which means almost all drivers, except the recent intel release). I'm planning on releasing 1.6.5 with just this bug fixed and no other changes. Please give this RC1 a go and see if it works a bit better than 1.6.4. I'll plan on pushing 1.6.5 in a few days (I'm going camping today, and won't be home until late Sunday).
