I dare you to build a functional intel 2.9 against xserver 1.1. Bonus points for not cribbing from the RHEL5 source. Really, from the perspective of someone who maintains serious amounts of backport, modular drivers is nice for maybe three months after the server release you decide to freeze on. After that, it's a big pile of work, and moving the pieces around doesn't really help that much. - ajax
