this is the standard fix that's needed (since end of january actually). the keySymsRec was removed when XKB was made mandatory as part of the de-duplication efforts and now everything is controlled by the XKB rmlvo setup. See also 447bd4ce90113037a489ce55d9878523fe5294c7 which is pretty much the same commit.
