I can't send a patch right now (typing on a French keyboard is
challenge enough for me) but I think I've spotted a bug in XAA by
inspection. In hw/xfree86/xaa/xaawrap.h, the pixmap op prologue
doesn't check whether it actually has a pixmap, and those ops can be
used on windows if the screen doesn't own the vtsema. I think you'd
hit an assertion failure if you do any drawing to a window while
vt-switched.

Just wanted to note that while I was thinking about it.
