I agree,  I make similar, but much less abstract, changes to help debug problems
with local non-trusted clients in a trusted X system.

Your patches are interesting and I plan to review/test them; it might take a few
weeks for me to have the time to do that however.  What is you time-frame
for getting these changes merged?
