Sure, I have no objections to killing it now, but 'one month before'
isn't really a useful metric:
March 2008: libtool 2.2 ('almost entirely rewritten') released
minutes later: Gentoo merge 2.2, which helps immensely while rebuilding
your entire system because libtool changed
April 2008: dolt merged to xserver master
April-September 2008: libtool 2.2.[246] maintenance releases, Gentoo
users dismayed
April 2009: Ubuntu jaunty released with 2.2.6
June 2009: Fedora 11 released with 2.2.6
April 2010: Ubuntu lucid LTS released with 2.2.6
Today: Debian lenny (stable) _still_ shipping with 1.5.26
