It *should* be what's done in Mesa, but no, not currently at least. I unfortunately haven't gotten around to adding TLS autodetection support to Mesa, yet. There was some concern about doing it there before the X server does it, due to ABI issues. So I'd like to /claim/ that I was waiting for an X release with this autodetection first, but in reality it's just that I've been distracted :) That said, now that I know about this issue, I'll be sure to 'do it right' when I get to the Mesa side.
