If you're looking for testers, I was just pointed to Michel's original patch (http://lists.x.org/archives/xorg-devel/2011-March/020716.html) by Mario Kleiner over on mesa-dev. In initial testing, it appears to solve a very nasty X crash when unlocking an OpenGL screensaver (and probably when exiting any full-screen program) with KDE desktop effects enabled on Intel GPUs. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32534 Since I used to see the same corruption of the screensaver unlock dialog on my ATI card, I suspect that it also fixes the KWin crash that inevitably followed shortly thereafter. I suspect that you can find a fair number of eager testers here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=252817 If there's a different iteration of the patch that you would like me to test, please point me to it. Otherwise, I would urge you to get this thing pushed. -- ======================================================================== Ian Pilcher [email protected] "If you're going to shift my paradigm ... at least buy me dinner first." ======================================================================== _______________________________________________ [email protected]: X.Org development Archives: http://lists.x.org/archives/xorg-devel Info: http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-devel
