This includes two minor XQuartz issues I'd like to address before 1.12 is
tagged, but the main issue here is the revert. I emailed the list about this
about a month ago, and Peter's been too busy to look into the regression, so I
think we should just revert it on 1.12 (like we did on 1.11) until someone has
time to look into it in more detail. This change is the last one on the branch
in case you want to delay merging it until there is more discussion, you can
easily just merge jeremyhu/xserver^ instead of jeremyhu/xserver.
