Thanks! I've initially patched the Debian source package, and then
re-did my patch based on git/xorg/app/setxkbmap.git when I submitted the
bugreport [1]. What is the correct procedure to close the bugreport now?

No special process, just change status to "Resolved" and save it (which I
just did).   I'd forgotten you'd opened a bug report for it as well, since
most patches don't have bug reports and those that do tend to mention the
bug in the patch message.
