Yeah, turns out that once you have a basic plan of attack, it's not all that hard to just go fix all of them in any particular module. > * sorry, BSDs, Solaris, etc. start using evdev already. The sad thing is that 'back in the day', Unix kernels *did* offer this kind of standardized interface to input devices. Of course, being Unix, none of them were the same. Sigh.
