Though I wonder whether other font formats could be disabled as well.
I suspect it would just take a little more glue to make the pcf & bdf
backends go away and use freetype for those instead, but haven't put in
the time to try. We still ship fonts in those formats so need to have
some support for them (well we ship bdf but expect people convert to pcf
to use - I don't know that we still need bdf support for running X servers,
just for bdftopcf), at least unless someone finally finishes the long
stalled fonttosfnt project to replace the old formats.
