Well, personally, I wouldn't do that. After all, the "correct" and documented option, Ignore, is still broken. I'd say that if you want to report it upstream, then mark the bug as forwarded; if it's a bug in the X server itself, reassign it. (Or maybe even leave the bug open and assigned to xserver-xorg-video-ati, so that others who might scratch their heads over the same problem might find this bug report, and discover this workaround.) But it's up to you, I suppose.
