Hi Alex I removed the DRI option and I confirm that only AGPMode = 1 works. All the others crash. I have 3D acceleration and all works fine (until now). I'll keep testing it, if anything goes wrong, i'll let you know.
It seems that this is a new "bug" to Xorg 7.3.1 up, and until now only with Mobility Radeon 9600. Just a few more questions: in the DRI website (http://dri.freedesktop.org) it says that the DRI Mode for the radeon driver should be 0660. Mine is 0666. Is this a problem? And quoting the DRI website "As of September 2007, 6.7.194 driver may give better results with EXA output, instead of XAA. This will change DRI rendering performance also.". I have 6.9.0. Should i change the AccelMethod to EXA? Thanks for everything, i really appreciate it. --- On Wed, 7/1/09, [email protected] <[email protected]> wrote: > From: [email protected] <[email protected]> > Subject: [Bug 19406] Blank Screen, X freeze on my notebook ( Ati Mobility > 9600 with radeon driver), ONLY with X.Org 7.4 > To: [email protected] > Date: Wednesday, 7 January, 2009, 3:09 AM > http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19406 > > > > > > --- Comment #3 from Alex Deucher <[email protected]> > 2009-01-06 15:39:02 PST --- > (In reply to comment #2) > > That was it.
