It should be as simple as to change the driver  from "radeonhd" to
"radeon" in the device section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf:

Section "Device"
  BoardName    "ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics"
  Driver       "radeon"
#  Driver       "radeonhd"
