Summary: Firefox slow with accel, fast with noaccel
           Product: xorg
           Version: 7.4
          Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
               URL: http://alteredqualia.com/visualization/evolve/
        OS/Version: Linux (All)
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Driver/Radeon
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]

I was testing this wonderful little JavaScript
http://alteredqualia.com/visualization/evolve/
and noticed I only got 3 fps in Linux with Firefox, while with OtherOS I got
closer to 40.
Running top show 80% of processing time being spent in xorg. Running sysprof
shows that time being spent in the libpixman function pixman_rasterize_edges

Running xorg with NoAccel gives 30 fps. Now sysprof puts pixman_rasterize_edges
closer to 14%.

So I start by blaming the radeon driver, though I realise this could be a X,
pixman or firefox bug also of cource. :-)

Latest drm-radeon-testing kernel as of a few days back with KMS.
radeon git + noaccel patch
xserver 2:1.6.5+git20091107+server-1.6-b
