Please attach your xorg log and glxinfo and dmesg output. It sounds
like you are using sw rendering for 3D.

You are ending up with ums and no accel. Make sure the radeon drm is
loaded before starting X.

Okey, how can i set this? How can i loaded drm before x started. i though
kms set up the xorg automatic?
Long time ago, i was happy that i`m able to set my own xorg.conf but now
isn´t going yet, but okey i will try kms.
The same phenomena is going on my desktop-machine with
ATI x1950 pro. i´ll post the xorglog and other next time
Either boot up without starting X, and manually load the radeon drm,
then start X, or fix your boot up scripts to load X at boot.

i boot up with grub. where can i addet a script or how looks like. do
