Summary: [HD 2400 XT] iMac has wavy lines on the screen
Product: xorg
Version: unspecified
Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Driver/Radeon
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
QAContact: [email protected]
Computer: iMac 8,1 20"
Video: ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT
OS: Arch Linux x86_64
xorg-server: 1.9.0
The display has a strange moiré-like effect (picture looks "instable", like the
surface of disturbed water), that is not present under MacOS 10.5.
There are light vertical wavy floating lines visible on the screen. They are
more clearly seen when you look the screen at an angle, from down below you
look upwards to the screen. The floating lines can be precisely seen on grey
backgrounds. These lines are not noticable much, but when you closely look with
grey backgrounds, they are visible.
The problem is observed on the different drivers:
xf86-video-ati 6.13.2 (with or without KMS)
catalyst 10.10
vesa 2.3.0
