You can only use DVI or HDMI, but not both at the same time.  The bios will
enumerate whatever connectors are connected at boot time.  You cannot switch
them on the fly.  The phantom VGA detection should be fixed in kernel 3.1 with
fixes showing up in the stable series kernels as well.
