without the aforementioned patch, I could not read pretty much anything on my
XBMC GUI screen, and navigating was just based on memory of where things were.
with this particular patch applied, I can at least read and navigate my XBMC
GUI. the artifacts are still there... but it's MUCH better.

i will try to make these adjustments, and get back to you.
i'm currently reverting back to 3.13-rc3. i had problems compiling the 3.13-rc4
