Can you attach a Xorg log from that combo?

Can you try if the problem also occurs with xf86-video-ati-7.7.0 and
xorg-server-1.17.4? If yes, can you bisect which change between
xf86-video-ati-7.5.0 and xf86-video-ati-7.7.0 introduced the problem?
Otherwise, can you try if the problem also occurs with the modesetting driver
instead of radeon?
