Another possibility might be that the nvidia driver incorrectly interprets all
cursor data as non-premultiplied alpha. This would result in translucent parts
of most cursor images being displayed slightly incorrectly (more translucent
than intended), but this might be less noticeable than non-premultiplied alpha
being interpreted as premultiplied alpha (which results in over-bright
colours).
