Not whole, but a lot of it. There is "Building the modular tree" at http://www.x.org/wiki/ModularDevelopersGuide, I don't know if it is up to date though. And better use the latest release instead of 7.2 An alternative is to use the same X release as you have installed on your system. Then you can install the development packages from your distribution, and just build the xserver with whatever options you want.
