It seems to be triggered by the recent policy change in xserver. I'll consider this as bug. See http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19247. The problem should be fixed by either Keith's patch or Maling's patch, depending on whether your LVDS EDID detected or not. Anyway applying both should be correct.
